Best New Writing is an annual anthology of fiction and creative nonfiction, including the winners of The Eric Hoffer Award for short prose and independent books. The Hoffer grand prizewinner and honored stories serve as the centerpiece of Best New Writing. Edited by award-winning authors, editors, and masters of the writing craft, Best New Writing showcases new works of outstanding literary value that are found outside of the commercial publishing establishment. Entries are previously unpublished (or published with a circulation of less than 500) and nominated by the writing community and the public at large.
